AI and Data Adoption: Right Here, Right Now

Everyone wants more automation from AI, everyone wants to be more data driven. We are all at some point in our journey with AI and Data, but for all the buzz, we know we could do more.

The passion is out there, but adoption is the challenge.

We are excited to give you a quick playbook to help your team with their adoption of these tools, whether it be AI or Data. The greatest part is this doesn’t need to be a massive undertaking, all you need is a first step.

1. Lead With Curiosity

When it comes to generative AI, the possibilities are endless. Find a chat tool and just start playing with it. Ask it how you can best interact with it, ask it to take on a tone (speak like Steve Jobs), have it give you feedback on an email... the opportunities are endless, do not be afraid to push the boundaries.

When it comes to data, ask questions of your data team or work with a vendor partner to understand what is going on. Come up with some questions that you are curious about and see how they can help you answer.

Take time to research the tools and techniques that are out there, go out and find a new AI podcast to listen to. Become curious about AI and Data, the benefit will follow.

2. Find Your Champions

You can’t roll this out alone. Build a small team of champions. Find those vocal leaders who will help you push the envelope of what you think these tools can do for your organization. Start small, learn fast, and share wins internally.

3. Start with the Problem, Not the Tool

Don’t ask “How do we use AI?” Instead, ask: “Where are we repeating ourselves?”, “What tasks take too long?”, or “Which of these aligns with what AI best solves for?”

4. Make It Visible

This one is simple: create a communication pipeline to share ideas and victories across your organization.

5. Make it Priority #1

Adoption only happens when these tools are part of your daily rhythm.  AI and Data need to be at the forefront of your internal conversations. In a priority meeting, they need to be at the top of the list and influencing the dialogue.

The key is not letting what is perceived to be “urgent” get in the way of true innovation.

Going Forward

AI and Data I can’t replace great operators, but they can make your team faster, sharper, and more consistent.

It doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to start. And it starts with you!
